What's in this article?

  1. Charge your card reader with the enclosed USB cable. You can either connect the card reader to a computer or power adapter. A full charge may take up to 2 hours.
  2. Download and install the SwipeSimple app. The app can be downloaded from the App store or Google Play Store.
  3. Plug your card reader into the audio jack of your device. You may need to remove the protective case on your device.
  4. When successfully connected, the LED indicator on the side of your card reader will be green.

Below are some troubleshooting steps if the device is not recognizing the SwipeSimple card reader:

  1. Ensure that your card reader is plugged in firmly by removing the reconnecting the card reader
  2. Remove any protective sleeve or casing. Some cases can prevent a strong connection
  3. Ensure that you are using a supported device
  4. Ensure that you are using the most updated version of the SwipeSimple application
  5. Ensure that the media volume or other audio settings on your device is maximized
    • In rare cases, you may need to have the Volume set to LOW
  6. Try plugging into the charger at the same time to ensure it is not a battery issue.
  7. Ensure that the microphone permissions are turned on for the SwipeSimple App on the phone
    • iPhone - Settings > Find your app int he setting's navigation bar and select it > Ensure the Microphone permission is slid on
    • Android (Models may Vary)- Settings > Applications > Select the SwipeSimple App > Permissions > Make sure the Microphone Permission is slid on
