Clover Mini: Cash Drawer is not opening

Is the cash drawer cord plugged into the correct ports?

Make sure that one end of the cord is plugged into the cash drawer and the other end is plugged into the blue socket at the leftmost edge of the Clover Station Printer or the port with the dollars icon on the leftmost edge of the Clover Mini Hub.

If the cord is plugged into any other port, the cash drawer will not open due to being connected incorrectly.

Plug in the cables (Cash Drawer)

  1. Insert one end of the RJ-11 6P6C cable (it has a blue sticker with a cash icon) into the bottom of the Clover Cash Drawer.
  2. Insert the other end of the cable (it has a blue sticker with a printer icon) to the Clover Mini’s hub port (the right-most port with a cash icon above).mini-plug_cash_drawer

Your cash drawer should now be operational.



 

Does your employee have the correct permissions for Register app?

Employees app  and checking the Open cash drawer manually permission in Employees app > PERMISSIONSRegister for the Employee role.

If the Open cash drawer manually  permission isn’t checked for the employee role, your employees won’t see the Open cash drawer option in the Register app .


 

Does your employee have the correct permissions for Cash Log app?

Make sure that employees are able to open the cash drawer manually by opening the Employees app  and checking the Open cash drawer manually permission in Employees app > PERMISSIONS > Register for the employee role. Enabling this permission will allow employees to open the cash drawer and also access the Cash Log app.

If the permission is not checked for the employee role, employees that tap the Open cash drawer option in the Register app will receive the following message: “You do not have permission to use this app.”


 

Do you hear the Cash Drawer make a "click" sound?

If your cash drawer makes a “click” sound, it may be trying to open while locked. Use your cash drawer key to unlock the cash drawer by turning the key to the leftmost position.
