Is Clover Mini in merchant-facing mode instead of customer-facing mode?

To take transactions from your Clover Mini as a customer-facing device, switch your Clover Mini to customer-facing mode.

If your Merchant Keypad displays, “Clover Merchant Keypad Connected,” then your Clover Mini is still in merchant-facing mode.

Note

Plugging in the Merchant Keypad to Clover Mini’s hub will not automatically change Clover Mini from merchant-facing to customer-facing mode.

The Merchant Keypad should display the text, “Clover Merchant Keypad Connected”, when it is connected to the Clover Mini in merchant-facing mode.

Is your Merchant Keypad is freezing, lagging, or not syncing correctly with Clover Mini?

Try rebooting your Clover Mini. If that doesn’t work, try unplugging your Merchant Keypad from your Clover Mini, then plug the Merchant Keypad into a different USB port on the Clover Mini hub.

If the Merchant Keypad continues to have issues connecting correctly with Clover Mini, please contact Customer Support and use your Clover Mini as a merchant-facing device in the meantime.

Are you trying to take any other kind of transaction besides Sale or Refund?

The Merchant Keypad is designed for sales and refunds. Please use the Clover Mini as a merchant-facing device if you need to take other types of transactions.

Is Merchant Keypad displaying an error message?

Any error message displayed on the Merchant Keypad should be the same error message displayed on your Clover Mini. The error may be due to a customer’s card not being charged correctly, merchant settings, etc.

If you see the error message “Merchant Keypad disconnected” when trying to launch the Merchant Keypad Pay Display app merchant-keypad-app-store, this means the Clover Mini is not detecting a connection to the Merchant Keypad. Try plugging the Merchant Keypad into another one of the USB ports on the Clover Mini hub.
