What's in this article?

SwipeSimple users are able to apply a discount(s) to a transaction when creating a sale

Discounts apply in the order they were added

Discounts are always applied before sales tax (if enabled) is calculated

Discount information will be displayed on both digital and printed receipts

Applying a Discount to an Item
1. Open the SwipeSimple application
2. Tap on the Hamburger menu in top-left corner
3. Tap on Item Catalog
4. Tap on the + button in the bottom right
5. Tap Create Discount
6. Give the discount a name
7. Choose if the discount will be a dollar amount ($) or a percent of the transaction total(%) and in the amount of the discount

  Dollar Amount($) Discount
8. Click Create
9. The Discount will be created
1. Open the SwipeSimple application
2. From the Charge screen tap on DISCOUNTS (Discounts may also be found at the bottom of the ITEMS tab)
  If you do not have the DISCOUNTS tab available, you will need to create a discount first
3. Tap on the discount name to apply it to the transaction
4. The Discount will be apply to the transaction and the discount name will be displayed below the list of items in your cart
5. Tap additional Discounts to add if needed
1. Open the SwipeSimple application
2. From the ITEMS tab, add items to the order by tapping on them
  You must have Items on your order before you can discount them
3. Select CART
4. Tap on the item to which you wish to apply the discount
5. Select Add Item Discount or Manage Discounts
6. Tap on the discount to add it to the item
7. Tap Done
8. When successfully applied, the discount name will be displayed in gray below the selected item
